Verisign announces .net price increase

Verisign isn't asking for 10 percent; it's announcing the next toll.

The .net registry has one operator. That operator just set next year's wholesale price: March 1, 2027, up 10 percent.

Under the .net Registry Agreement, annual price increases are capped but predictable. Verisign takes the permitted step without negotiation.

Registrars either absorb the increase or pass it through. End users rarely see wholesale mechanics; they just see slightly larger renewal invoices.

The structural point: a registry fee is a direct claim on every renewal payment. No auction, no marketplace negotiation, no buyer leverage. Just a line item that moves with the calendar.
