Understanding the European domain name market

In Europe, .com is the default only to foreigners.

Europe's domain market runs on local gravity. Consumers type their ccTLD first; businesses follow or get lost.

The difference isn't taste. It's trust and habit baked into search, ads, and mail. A .com can read as distant or generic next to a .de or a .fr.

For sellers, that changes valuation. Liquidity is regional; an extension with a strong local base holds different demand curves than the global .com pool.

North American buyers should not map U.S. instincts onto Europe. The market is smaller, quieter, and often better at knowing exactly what it wants.
