New TLD applicants impatiently wait for timeline

ICANN owns the clock; applicants just live on it.

The new gTLD round is stuck in the gap between Reveal Day and everything after it. ICANN has not committed to a date, and applicants cannot plan.

The wait is not neutral. Every deadline after Reveal Day is triggered by that date, so the absence of one holds the entire pipeline hostage.

A representative is pressing ICANN to publish the schedule. The request is modest, but it exposes the structural imbalance: applicants have capital committed, ICANN has only process.

Until the timeline is set, the market will price in uncertainty. That is the only certainty.
