Liquid Domain Report for Q3 2026

The Q3 liquid domain report shows public sales down, private sales up, and a stable floor for four-letter .coms. For holders, the key question is where liquidity is actually moving.

Publicly disclosed domain sales fell to $6.74 million, down 13.78% from the prior quarter. Four-letter .coms accounted for roughly two-thirds of that total. The most visible segment of the market shrank, but it did not collapse.

Private transactions tell a different story. Escrow.com reported $31.44 million in sales, up 92.18%. Three-letter .coms led that activity with $21.82 million. Publicly disclosed sales are no longer a reliable proxy for overall market volume; the larger deals are happening outside the reporting channels that feed public databases.

Four-letter .com values at the 5th percentile held steady, with a 1% decline over the past year. That is a narrow move. For holders, this is a useful floor: even the weakest four-letter .coms are not falling sharply. The lower end of that market appears stable, not collapsing.

Domain-related stocks had a strong quarter. Verisign and GoDaddy each rose more than 12%, ahead of the S&P 500 and Nasdaq. GoDaddy, however, remains down roughly 30% over the past year. Stock prices reflect revenue and profit expectations, not the resale value of individual names. A rising share price does not mean domain prices are rising.

The contrast between public and private sales is the main signal. Publicly disclosed sales fell, while Escrow.com volume nearly doubled. That points to a market where high-value deals are increasingly done privately. Public sales lists are becoming a less complete measure of overall liquidity.

For a holder, the practical takeaway is that the lower end of the 4L .com market has held its floor. The 5th percentile price declined only 1% over the year. That gives a reference point for the weakest liquid .coms. The larger movement is in private sales, especially three-letter .coms, which means sellers with quality inventory may find better results through brokers and private channels than through public auctions.
