ICANN de-accredits “bulletproof” domain registrar
ICANN pulled the plug on a registrar that sold impunity — the accreditation is gone, and the “bulletproof” label died with it.
The registrar built its business on domains that resisted abuse complaints. That model works only while ICANN looks the other way.
This is a compliance action, not a technical fix. Terminating accreditation cuts the company off from the wholesale layer where real domains begin their lives.
The signal for domain owners is blunt: abuse tolerance now carries an ICANN-enforced cost. Being the last stop for spam and phishing fleets is a liability, not a selling point.
“Bulletproof” was never a property of infrastructure. It was a temporary agreement between a registrar and everyone willing to ignore the complaint queue.
