GoDaddy domains now automatically verified with Afternic

GoDaddy-registered domains listed on Afternic now verify automatically through linked accounts, removing the DNS and TXT step for sellers.

Afternic has removed a step from the listing process for GoDaddy customers. Domains held in a linked GoDaddy account no longer need a TXT or DNS record to prove ownership. Verification now happens through the account link itself.

The change affects anyone listing GoDaddy-registered domains on Afternic. Previously, a seller had to add a record at the DNS host to confirm control. That step was a common point of friction: it required access to DNS settings, took time to propagate, and could fail silently.

For sellers, the practical effect is a shorter path from intent to listing. For buyers, it may mean fewer stale or unverified listings. What is not yet clear is whether the automatic check covers all domain statuses, or whether domains with certain locks or pending operations still require the manual route.

The feature is specific to the GoDaddy–Afternic link. Sellers using other registrars still go through the older verification method. Whether Afternic extends the same integration to other registrars is not stated.
