Early Warning Report officially launches for new top level domains

The blindfold comes off before ICANN says it should.

Early Warning Report is a third-party intelligence tool for TLD applicants, not an ICANN function. It lets a would-be registry operator see which other applicants are chasing the same string before the official application list is public.

That timing is the product. Once ICANN reveals contention sets, the process is a managed fight: withdrawal, auction, or agreement. Seeing the players a beat earlier converts a forced collision into a scheduled negotiation.

This is not domain sales and it is not end-user psychology. It is pre-application positioning for registry hopefuls, sold by someone who noticed that the most expensive surprise in the TLD game is another bidder.

The platform monetizes an information gap in ICANN's own process. Nothing illegal, nothing heroic, just a quiet hedge against a very public reveal.
