Andrew Allemann and Ron Jackson Dig Into 2026's Biggest Reported Domain Sales in New DNW Podcast

The half-year mark arrives, and the trade press gathers to count the trophies.

Andrew Allemann and Ron Jackson convene for the 597th installment of the Domain Name Wire podcast. The occasion: a review of the largest reported sales of 2026's first six months.

Two men, one microphone, and a ledger of public transactions. The format is familiar, but the function is essential. Reported sales are the only verifiable pulse in a market that otherwise trades in whispers and private ledgers.

Jackson's DNJournal remains the closest thing the domain industry has to a clearinghouse for pricing data. Without it, the conversation would be entirely anecdotal.

The underlying machinery is straightforward. Domain names are illiquid assets. Their value is realized only at the moment of sale, and only when that sale is disclosed. Everything else is narrative.

Allemann's role is to translate that narrative into something resembling journalism. The podcast format allows him to do so without the friction of a print deadline.

What the listener receives is a curated tour of the year's marquee transactions. What the listener does not receive is any meaningful analysis of why those prices were paid, or whether comparable assets might fetch similar sums tomorrow.

That gap is the real story. The reported sales are real, but the market they describe is a thin slice of the whole. The vast majority of meaningful domain transactions never appear in any public ranking.

Still, the ritual matters. Twice a year, the industry gets a reminder that prices exist, that names change hands, and that someone is keeping score.

The 597th episode is less a milestone than a marker. The work continues, one transaction at a time.
