Afternic: Auto Renew Turned Off for Canceled LTOs

A renewal notice is the market's way of telling you the sale didn't stick.

A seller gets an email from GoDaddy about a domain expiring. The problem: they thought it had already sold.

The domain was tied to an Afternic lease-to-own. The LTO got canceled, the domain came back, and somewhere in that transition the auto-renew setting was switched off.

This is the quiet machinery of incomplete transactions: inventory returns, but the safety settings don't always return with it.

Sellers should treat any returned LTO as a reset. Verify registrar settings, check expiration dates, and don't assume the old terms survived the cancellation.

The lesson isn't exotic. It just arrives in a seemingly routine email.
